Job Description
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at OLUSIUM has an exciting opportunity. We seek an exceptional laboratory-based molecular biologist working in the area of cancer detection and diagnosis. The successful candidates will work on the design and develop novel liquid biopsy-based platforms for early cancer detection and monitoring of treatment response. The selected candidates will handle various cell and molecular biology tools and techniques and work on patient samples. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide mentorship for laboratory members and the departmentā€™s students. .

Design, assembly, curation, and quality control of plasmid DNA, Act as a scientific leader and guide to Research Associates, Develop and implement new automation platforms and technologies, Manage CRO relationships, Effectively communicate plans and results in both oral and written form, Ability to work in a highly dynamic collaborative team environment, Coordination and planning of tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating appropriate prioritization and planning Detailed record keeping .
Significant experience in DNA cloning, cell biology, or molecular genetics as evidenced by publications in high impact journals or related industry experience, Experience in viral vector biology and production preferred, Experience with preparing DNA for mammalian expression a plus, Experience in high throughput cloning methods and automation a plus, Knowledge of cancer biology, and immunotherapy preferred, Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of the initial job description, Comfortable in a fast-paced company and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities, Strong organizational skills and online record-keeping, Experience with plasmid editing software (Snapgene, DNAstar, VectorNTI, etc.) a plus, Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills .
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Synthetic Biology, Virology or Biology (field), Industry experience and/or Post-doctoral experience with a strong publication record preferred, Direct experience managing Research Associates and/or Scientists .
